Parish Clusters *

There are 12 cluster groups in the Braintree District and meetings are held twice a year in the spring and  autumn.

The ‘clusters’ are groups of parishes with common interests and concerns and are a forum to share experiences and solutions.  Representatives from all three tiers of local government - parish, district and county,  Essex Police and Health Authority attend to discuss local issues.  Parishes are able to ask questions directly to the appropriate representatives on agenda topics chosen by them and action points are recorded in the meeting notes.

The Cluster groups may work together on projects e.g. the acquisition and use of a speed indicator device, transport surveys. They may agree to jointly lobby on issues of concern or share local information.

The geographical areas for the 12 groups are shown on the Parish Cluster Map.

The 2009 autumn/winter round of cluster meetings will begin during September.   If your parish is hosting a meeting you may click on the following documents for guidance.

- Braintree Parish Cluster Meetings.doc - revision 1-07
- Table of Cluster Groups 07
- Arranging the Cluster Meeting.doc - revision 1-07

Please refer to the cluster pages on the left-hand column of this page to access agenda and minutes for the individual groups.

The July edition of the Parish Update  may be used to select items for discussion at your meeting.
