Key Personal Highlights/Contributions During the Year.
I live in my ward, and am therefore easily contactable by
residents. I am pleased to have been able to assist and advise both
Parish Councillors and residents in local issues and concerns.
I supported fully the provision of a new community
hospital on the St Michaels site, and the need for urgent
improvement of the A120 at the junctions around Braintree.
I attend most Parish Council meetings and have regular meetings
with both the Chairman & Vice Chairman, and have successfully
applied towards grants for a tractor and grounds keeping
equipment for the Parish.
The key highlights of the year have been the publication of the
Village Design Statement and to persude the County Council to
provide School transport to Notley High School for all pupils
living in Rayne. I attend both Regional and District meetings and
presentations to make myself as aware as possible of any issues
that may affect the ward I represent.
Family, Hobbies and Interests.
I am married with 2 sons and have lived in Rayne for 31
years, and Braintree for 9 years. I am retired, having worked for a
multiple grocery retailer for 34 years as a Regional Manager
and as a General Manager of a Cash & Carry for 11 years both
part of the same company. I was elected as a District Councillor in
a By Election four and a half years ago. I play golf
and include DIY as my main interests, and we enjoy travel. I have
certainally found mixing and meeting such a wide variety of
people a very rewarding and interesting experience after working
for the one company for so many years.
