About Me
I was newly elected in May 2007 having stood as a candidate
alongside Cllr Margaret Galione, a very experienced and
longstanding Member of Braintree District Council and
currently Vice-Chairman.
My career has been as both a Police Officer in the Metropolitan and
Essex forces, as a Local Government Senior Manager with
responsibility for managing my employing authorities Anti-Social
Behaviour Team and most recently as a manager for a large
charity serving the needs of homeless people.
My genuine interest is in the well-being of the Black Notley
& Terling Ward and of course the wider district and I
believe this along with my background, puts me in a
good position to strongly represent and make decisions on
behalf of the people who live, work and socialise in the ward and
district as a whole.
My stance throughout the elections was very much about 'No Bull'
- A clear, common sense, no nonsense and 'can do' approach to local
concerns and issues and this has not changed.
I will continue to:
Fight to ensure that the highest quality of
services is provided and that these offer good value for
money;
Be accessible, actively listen and make sure constituents
voices are heard;
Fight to halt the closure of sub-post offices and the rapid
decline in farming;
Fight against the unnecessary new building on Greenfield
sites;
Work to ensure that there are facilities for both young and
old, making sure young people don't have to wander the streets
looking for entertainment and that older people are cared for and
not confined to their homes;
Fight to ensure that people feel safe, are protected and
that the police are visible, responsive and accountable.
