Charity Golf Day

The Chairman will host the annual charity Golf Day at Colne Valley Golf Club, Earls Colne on Wednesday 1st August 2012.

Limited spaces are available for teams of 4 at a charge of £180 per team which includes 18 holes of golf, evening meal and prize-giving.  If you would like further information or to enter a team please contact Donna Walton, Civic Officer on 01376 552525 ext 2011 or e-mail donna.walton@braintree.gov.uk

Previous Chairman, Councillor Mrs Janet Money, is pictured with Mrs Lynda Minton, Lady Captain of Braintree Golf Club at the 2012 event,which was successful in raising £3,660 for the Chairman's Charities.

100th Birthdays and Diamond Wedding Anniversaries

During her year in office Cllr Bowers-Flint  would very much like to meet and present a bouquet of flowers and a card to anyone celebrating their 100th birthday or diamond wedding anniversary.  If you, or anyone you know, will be reaching this momentous occasion and would like the Chairman to visit we would be pleased to hear from you.  Please contact the Civic Office on 01376 552525 ext 2006 or e mail linda.parish@braintree.gov.uk

  

"Diamond" Tea Party

Inspired by the celebrations to mark HM The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, Councillor Lynette Bowers-Flint will host a "Diamond" tea party at the Town Hall, Braintree on Wednesday 4th July 2012 from 2.30 - 4.00p.m.

An open invitation to this free event goes to residents of the Braintree District who:

*Have undertaken 60 years of voluntary work or service to their local community.

*Represent a voluntary organisation that has served the District for 60 years or more (up to 2 representatives per organisation).

*Are celebrating your Diamond Wedding Anniversary this year

*Are celebrating other 60th Anniversaries this year (60th birthdays not included).

Assistance with free transport to and from the event can be arranged.

If you would like to join the Chairman please contact the civic office on 01376 552525 ext 2006 or e-mail linda.parish@braintree.gov.uk by Friday 15th June.  Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

 

Braintree flies the flag for the Armed Forces *

Councillor Lynette Bowers-Flint will be raising a flag from the Town Hall Centre, Braintree  on Monday 25th June at 10.00 a.m. to mark the occasion. She will be joined by representatives of associations with military links and Steve Fletcher, a bugler from Witham who has served many years with the Royal Artillery, will sound Reveille as the flag is hoisted.  Prayers will be led by the Reverend Tim Barnes of St Peters in the Fields Church, Bocking.

"This is the fourth year we have raised the Armed Forces Day Flag and I am delighted to join with other local authorities across the country to raise the flag in honour of all those who have served and continue to serve in the Armed Forces." said Cllr Bowers-Flint.
