Councillor Lynette Flint was elected as
Chairman at the Council AGM on Thursday 26th April 2012.
Councillor Flint represents Cressing and Stisted Wards and has
been a Councillor since 1983 and as such is one of the two longest
serving Councillors.
Lynette's passion is serving the rural area she has lived in
since birth and doing her best to keep it rural and not
letting either village lose its identity.
Lynette has previously been Chairman of the Housing Committee,
Chairman of Community and Leisure Services, Chairman of the Museum
Trustees and for the last two years she has been Vice-Chairman of
the Council, supporting both Councillor Tony Shelton and Councillor
Janet Money in their role as Chairman of Braintree District
Council.
Lynette has many interests outside the Council where she always
puts others first, including working with young, elderly and people
with disabilities. She enjoys spending her spare time with
her great nephew and great nieces who continue to bring sunshine
and happiness to her life.
Lynette married her partner, Kevin Bowers on 5th May
2012. Kevin has been totally supportive to her in
her role as Vice-Chairman and will continue to support her in her
new role. She will now be known as Councillor Mrs Lynette
Bowers-Flint.
The Chairman has chosen Brainwave and The Salvation Army as her
charities for the forthcoming year. Click on Chairman's Charities
