The Licensing Act 2003 sets out a number of offences that can be
committed by licence holders, applicants or others, including the
holders of Temporary Event Notices.
In general terms you commit an offence if you:
Provide a
regulated activity which
requires a licence and you do not have one
Do not notify the Licensing Authority or other responsible
authorities of something you are
supposed to
Breach the terms of a licence, certificate or notice
Make a false statement
Allow an unaccompanied child (under 16) on a licensed premises
primarily used for consumption of alcohol on the
premises or any licensed premises used for the
consumption of alcohol between midnight and 5 am
Sell liqueur confectionery to a child under 16
Are under 18 and you purchase alcohol or get a club to supply it
to you.
You purchase alcohol for someone under 18 (someone over 18 may
purchase beer wine or cider for someone aged 16 or 17 whilst
they are at the licensed premises consuming a table meal)
At licensed premises, sell, supply or deliver alcohol to someone
under 18,allow another employee or club member to so sell or supply
or allow someone under 18 to consume alcohol on the premises
(except at a table meal as above).
You are under 18 and you consume alcohol at licensed premises
(except at a table meal as above)
You send someone under 18 to obtain alcohol for you (except in
the course of their employment e.g. a young person employed as
a delivery driver)
Allow someone under 18 to sell or supply alcohol unless the sale
is supervised and specifically authorised
Allow disorderly conduct on a licensed premises
Sell alcohol to or purchase it for a person who is drunk
Do not leave a licensed premises when asked to do so if you are
drunk
Keep smuggled goods at a licensed premises
