The Economic Development Unit (EDU) is a service provided by Braintree District Council to assist companies with their plans for growth within the district. This covers companies who are already resident in the district and want to expand current premises or find new premises, and it also includes companies who wish to locate into the district from other areas.

Braintree District Council has a stated objective to create a vibrant local economy without damaging the environment, and the EDU helps to facilitate this by discussing expansion plans and helping to find solutions that meet both the needs of business and the wider community.

Companies wishing to develop land or premises can contact the EDU for an informal discussion by calling 01376 557788 and asking for the Economic Development Unit.
