10p parking after 3.00pm and all day Sunday is available at the following car park until  31st March 2012 (excludes permit areas):

- George Yard Multi Storey
- Station Approach
- Manor Street
- Victoria Street. 
- Causeway House at weekends only.

Transforming empty shops
• Empty shops drag down the appearance of the towns - we plan to bring these places back to life by revamping them with art displays by local artists and shop front vinyls to transform the shop front.
• We want to encourage new independent retailers into our towns. To give new retailers a helping hand we will be launching a start up initiative aimed at giving budding retail entrepreneurs a taste of the High Street environment.  Working together with local land lords to make good use of empty shops and the local Business Support Agency (BDS) to provide advice and guidance, it will give tenants an opportunity to test their ideas and operate at reduced rates.

Spring clean for the town centre
• Early next year town centre pavements will be getting a steam clean in Braintree, Witham and Halstead which will remove built up grime and more difficult debris such as chewing gum.
